My Day, Today...

Today I...

Cut up triangles for Eli's birthday bunting...

Then we jumped into the car...

We shopped...

...and shopped....

We nibbled...

I made the joyful discovery of a sale...

We headed home, exhausted...

Really exhausted...

I lovingly went through my fabric haul...

Tried on the peach/pink jumper my husband convinced me to buy and instantly fell in love with these...

Uh, genius!!

I tried on my other jumper and fell deeply further in love with everything owly...

Cute, right?

Now the kids are in bed it is time to kick my feet back and relax, watch some Grand Designs, eat some dinner and chop up more triangles to add to the pile...
So how was your day?

DIY Apple Stamp Fabric

I saw something on Pinterest, and I fell in love.
I decided that I just had to make it.
I do this a lot.
I see something.
I "oooh" and "aaah".
And I never actually make/cook it.
Never. Ever.
Until now!

I saw a gorgeous fabric printed using an apple cut in half.
It looked cute, so pretty.
I realized that I actually had everything I needed to do it...
So I went ahead...

I gathered, chopped, painted and stamped....

Then ironed the design into the fabric...

I had the idea of a cushion in mind while I stamped, but did a few extra apples on the side of my fabric for another project.
You never know when you might need it!

I really, really love it!
What do you think?
This was so easy to do, and cheap too!
The paint I have had for a few years and cost me $5.20 each.
They are tempting me back into stencilling....
:)

Am I the only one who uses their iron for crafting only? I can't remember the last time I used it on actual clothing....!

Well today I whipped up a quick batch to do some experimental baking...

In ice cream cones!

I then mixed up a combination of chocolate frosting, chocolate & cream...

...It made a yummy fudgey topping...

Mmmm....YUM!

I only did a few ice cream cones and with the remaining batter I made a regular cake...

With big chunks of creamy chocolate sprinkled on top.... Of course!

It's pretty good!

Of course I changed the recipe slightly, on a whim.
(As I do...)
I omitted the caster sugar, and instead added the same amount of this delicious stuff...

It gave the cake a deeper chocolate flavour, and not as sweet.
Lovely.
