30 Day Photography Challenge - Day 13 Yourself with 13 Things.

I know it has been a while since my last 30 Day Photography Challenge picture....
All I can say is that with two little kiddies to run around after, there is not much time left in the day to go out and play with my camera!
But I will keep going, sporadically, whenever I can.

Me with 13 things.
I have a lot of cookbooks.
Some of them I haven't even used at all.
Not even once.
But I will!

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 11 Something Blue

The early morning sky.
I guess it's one pretty thing about being woken up at 530am by my lovely children...

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 10 Childhood Memory

Sadly I do not have many of my childhood photos with me. They are in storage, a long way away.
But this photo I found recently..... Brings back such memories. Emotions more than events.

Ask me about my aunty's wedding?
I don't remember a thing.
Ask me what I do remember?
My shoes.
I remember I loved those shoes.
They were my favourite.
I was saddened when they didn't fit anymore, I wanted to know why.
So was this the beginning of my love of shoes?
These cute little strappy white sandals?
.....
...
..
I think I need new shoes.

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 9 Someone You Love

Someone I love?
Someone?
Impossible!
I love too many people to have just one...
But I have narrowed down the list, drastically.
First off, my darling husband.

Without him my life would be empty.
I thank God every day I was blessed with him.
He helped with the next loves.
Our beautiful children.

And of course, where would I be without my parents?
I love them more than words could ever say.

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 8 A Bad Habit

Anyone who knows me knows I have bad habits.
My worst, you would think, is biting my fingernails.
Yes, they are bad.
But there is another, lesser known bad habit....

Never mind the cluttered desk.
I eat in front of the computer.
I eat in front of the tv.
I sit at the table to eat and I get bored.
So I read while I sit at the table and eat.
I can't help it, I have always been an "easily bored" person.
As a child my family would tease me because all I would say was "I'm bored!"
But not anymore, not with two small children!
What parent has time to be bored?
Not I!

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 7 Fruit

So this counts, right?

I mean, it is fruit.
Just not edible fruit..... Pretty resin fruit.

And what about this?

There is fruit on there.... Just not much!

Ok, well I give in...

I love oranges, the way they look inside.
They taste pretty good too.

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 6 Something From A Low Angle

Well it's obvious by now that my favourite things to photograph are my kids....
But honestly, just look at that face?

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 5 From A High Angle

Today I have cheated.
I am stuck inside and have nothing left to photograph.
I went through my collection of photos and scrolled back to when I was still pregnant with my baby boy.
I love this photo.
It was the view I had every day when I looked down.

Though of course it got bigger and bigger over time...

And eventually my little baby boy was born...

And look at him now!

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 4 Something Green

Before I continue on to my photography challenge I would like to say something....

A deadly combination of drought, on-going conflict and escalating food prices has placed over 11 million people in need of life-saving aid in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. Over two million children are malnourished. Please help UNICEF Australia by making a donation online (www.unicef.org.au/eastafrica). You can also share our message to help us spread the word.

I implore you to help, donate as little as $40 and it can provide a child with one month's supply of Plumpy'Nut, a
vitamin-rich peanut paste that has been specially developed to treat acutely malnourished children.

$70 can provide 1000 sachets of Oral Rehydration Salts to help children combat dehydration.

These children need help.
Our help.
Can you go without a new piece of clothing, or a meal out to help save a life?

If you would like to read more and donate please visit HERE.

Thank you!!

Ok now to bounce back from such sadness and back to my photography challenge.
Today it is something green...
Green plants outside...

(blogger is doing that funny thing again where it rotates my images and won't let me put them up the right way)

But my favourite green things are these....

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 3 Clouds

This morning was a little hectic....
I was running around making both kids breakfast, changing nappies and feeding the little one.
I looked outside and saw these dark clouds lingering...

I snapped this quick out of focus photo seconds before the clouds above my head opened up and let loose a torrent of water.

So I went about my day, washing clothes, dishes, vacuuming and when the sun began to shine I scrubbed dirty couch cushions, dining chairs and toddler seat. I hung out washing, I brought it in.
All while wrangling two attention hungry children.

What a beautiful afternoon it turned out to be!

Though I can still see some darkness hiding...

30 Day Photography Challenge-Day 2 What You Wore Today

Taking a photo can be challenging.
Taking a photo with a 2yr old in the house is even more challenging.
She spots me, the camera.
She follows....
I attempt to strike a pose on the bed...

Hello little blur of my child!
Ok, we'll try again...

She is suddenly overcome with the urge to climb all over me....

So I trap her with my legs, she cries out for help...
"I'm stuuuuck!!"

I unleash her from her leggy prison and she flops down beside me, looks up at the camera and says "Cheeeeeeese"!!
She holds the pose, draws the "cheese" out and waits for the click of the camera...
Oh I see now, she wants her photo taken...

She hears the distant music coming from the loungeroom.....

So what else do we do but have a little dance?

After all that fun I did manage to get a photo.
It isn't the best to really show my outfit, but at this stage I was happy to accept anything so I could put the camera down and go boogie with my girl.

What I wore today.
Yoga pants (can you get any more comfortable?).
Red top, gathered detail at the bust.
Grey stripe cardigan.

30 Day Photography Challenge

In my usual lazy browsing of Pinterest I came across this....

I thought, yes!
Yes, I will do this!
I will challenge myself, and I will start now.
So I grabbed my camera and looked at the list.
Ok, day 1, self-portrait.
Oh dear....
Find some good light outside, check.
Find a pose.....
Oh....
Dear.....
What do I do?

Play with hair and pull stupid face?

Nope, not a fan....
Pull hair up with hand and pull ridiculous face?

Oh dear me! No!

Maybe brush hair off face and try to look effortlessly graceful while hiding horrible chewed fingernails...

Hmmm I don't mind it but my face is overshadowed by GIANT hand!

Ok, stop playing with the hair.
Relax.
Deep breath.

(After a 5min photoshop fiddle)

Yes.
I am happy with this one.
Now I can go inside and load it up on the computer....
Good timing too, it just started to rain.
:)
